their regular monthly meeting on
Tuesday, January 16th at 7:30
PM, at the 62nd Precinct
located at Bay 22 Street and Bath

The
Chairman announced the Brooklyn Breast

Mr.
Guarinello reported that he is the new
acting chair of Victory Memorial
Hospital’s Board of Trustees. The Board
of Trustees is working on a plan to keep
the hospital viable and a firm plan
should be complete by next month. The
hospital filed for bankruptcy last
November, as it was not managed very
well.
The
Hospital is not going to be the 254-bed
facility it is now, and the Board of
Trustees hopes to maintain emergency
room facilities and a number of acute
care beds. The Board is fighting hard
to prevent the loss of the hospital and
seeing the property become another high
priced condominium project.
The
Chairman urged residents to utilize the
facility.
Mr.
Feuer advised that he recently underwent
cataract surgery at Victory Memorial
Hospital and urged residents to use the
hospital.
District Manager’s Report
Mr.
Feuer announced that the Weatherization
Referral and Packaging Program, which is
a free federally funded program that
provides low-income elderly and disabled
persons with free energy related
services, as well as assistance in
accessing needed social and support
services, is available. Anyone
interested can contact the offices of
Community Board 11 for additional
information.
The
District Manager advised that
applications for the 2006-2007 Home
Energy Assistance Program are available.
Mr.
Feuer advised that sidewalks must be
cleared of snow and ice within 4 hours
after the snow has stopped falling or by
11 AM if the snow stopped falling after
9 PM the night before. Mr. Feuer urged
all residents not to throw their snow
into the middle of the street.
The
District Manager reported that there
will be no parking on 86th
Street between Bay 28th
Street and Bay 29th Street
for 2 weeks during the installation of
the new sanitary sewers.
